Carpe Diem provide Website Usability Review

Usability refers to how easy a web site is for an end user. A site that is considered to have good usability would typically be intuitive to navigate, with any other forms of navigation within the sight being clear and straightforward. Information should be clear and concise, choices obvious, with no ambiguity regarding options with a consistent page layout and navigation.

A usability review can take a whole host of guises. It can be as simple as sitting some people down and watching how they navigate your site, or as involved as actually tracking a person's eyes to see in detail where they are actually looking on your web pages.

In a nutshell, it is a way to find out what is working with your site, and what isn't, providing you with in-depth results about how you can improve your sites performance and profitability.

ASICS Database Engine

ASICS Database Engine

ASICS have always been a very active in promoting their products and making it easy for customers to register interest in the brand and receive marketing communications. They have many websites and ‘mini sites’, some with multiple data capture facilities. The challenge was to aggregate and manage this growing collection of contact data that was becoming increasingly time-consuming to deal with. Whenever personal data is collected by a company – especially if it’s for marketing purposes – it’s vital to ensure the contact details are accurate and the user is happy to be contacted. User preferences must always be adhered to and any communications sent must be relevant. To ensure these criteria could be met across the board, regardless of which website the data had come from, the concept of a centralised database engine was developed.
